🎩 Hey there, I'm Mitchell Artz!

Who Am I?

I’m a human who loves asking, “What happens if we push this button?” and then building systems to make sure nothing catches fire. I thrive in the spaces where data, maps, and security collide—because why settle for one obsession when you can juggle three?

By day, I’m a data analyst, cybersecurity enthusiast, and full-stack developer. By night, I’m in my home lab, tinkering with GIS tools, honing my honeypots (pun intended), and turning raw data into something you’d actually want to look at. My work revolves around curiosity, creativity, and coffee-fueled problem-solving, all wrapped up with a love of automation, optimization, and the open-source community.

I don’t just code—I explore, break, and rebuild until the results speak for themselves.

🛠️ My Toolbox of Doom / Chaos Bucket

I dabble in everything from dev to ops, with a sprinkle of GIS magic and a dash of automation wizardry:

  • Languages: Python 🐍 (my first love), SQL (of course), C++ (for the thrill of pain), COBOL, Ada, C#, JS, PS, TS, COW. Plus a boatload more
  • Backend: Django, FastAPI, Flask
  • Frontend: React, Streamlit,
  • Geospatial Mastery: ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, KeplerGL
  • DevOps Alchemy: Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Cloudflare
  • Databases: PostgreSQL (with PostGIS flair), Oracle, MongoDB
  • Data Science Kung Fu: pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, plotly, geopandas, dask

🌟 What’s Cooking?

  1. A Filmmaker-Fan Platform: Combining Django + React to connect creators and their audiences.
  2. GeoNode Hosting: Running my own mapping setup because I like having the whole world at my fingertips.
  3. Home Automation: Teaching my devices to obey me with Home Assistant, because I’m not above bossing around my tech.
  4. CHAOS
  5. etc
  6. etc
  7. etc

🛡️ My powers

  • Data Detective: I don’t just find insights; I hunt them down, throw them them into pretty graphs, and make them tell a story.
  • Cybersecurity Tactician: I study hackers by running honeypots. Think of it as hosting unwanted guests, but for science.
  • Geospatial Wizard: I turn data into maps that even Google would raise an eyebrow at.
  • Full-Stack Builder: Backend, frontend, side quests. If it’s code, I’ve probably debugged it (and cried a little in the process).
  • Automation Guru: If it can be automated, it will be automated.
  • Open-Source Advocate: I believe the best things in tech are free, collaborative, and community-driven.

📚 Always Learning, Always Growing

I live by the philosophy that curiosity is king. Whether it’s diving into GIS tech, DevOps tools, or figuring out why my Docker container's time zone is off, I’m always up for a challenge.

My go-to resources? The occasional 2 a.m. rabbit hole on Stack Overflow. I approach learning like I approach my tech stack: broad, deep, and caffeinated.

🌐 Connect with Me

If you’ve made it this far, we’re probably destined to collaborate. Let’s make cool stuff together:
