NHLBI BDC Metrics Dashboard

This Repository is for the NHLBI BDC Metrics Dashboard. A proof of Concept of the Dashboard, built in Tableau Public, can be found here:

Developer Guide

Step 1 - Review the CSV template and Metrics Definitions

• The Metrics Template, as well as the Metrics Field Definitions can be found here: Metrics_Template
• Metrics Field Definitions can also be found below in the Developer Guide
• Please provide feedback on the CSV template as well as the Metrics Definitions in the form of a pull request

Step 2 - Generate data as CSV

• Files should be named using the naming convention "Platform_Metrics_Dashboard_Year"
• Files for each calendar year will be concatenated on each refresh.
• Use the template to generate your data to place in the BDC Metrics Data Box

Step 3 - Get access to the BDC Metrics Data Box

• Email Gireesh Subramaniam [email protected] to get access to the Box
• Please CC Noble Dzakpasu [email protected] as well for NHLBI approval
• Once given access, please upload metrics CSV files into the folder for your given platform
• Filepath is BDC Metrics Data/Dashboard Inputs/<Platform_Name>/
• Each folder should contain one CSV file, regenerated and overwritten with each refresh.

Step 4 - Explore data

• The Power BI Dashboard will be available in the GRP-NHLBI-ITAC Power BI Workspace which is managed by NHLBI.

Unique Logins:

• Dug: N/A
• PIC-SURE: Unique logins to Authorized PIC-SURE via eRA Commons or BDC Developer Login
• Gen3: Unique Logins to the BDC Ecosystem, via NIH login or BDC Developer Login
• Terra: Unique Logins to Terra via Google or Microsoft
• Seven Bridges: Unique logins to Seven Bridges via eRA Commons or BDC Developer Login

Visits:

• Dug: Total visits to Dug
• PIC-SURE: Total Visits to Open PIC-SURE
• Gen3: Total unique user visits to Gen3 Data Portal
• Terra: N/A
• Seven Bridges: N/A

Search Events:

• Dug: Typing a text string in the search bar and hitting Search
• PIC-SURE: The total number of searches (A text string typed into the search bar and searched) and queries (Using the database filter tools to find a specific set of data)
• Gen3: N/A
• Terra: N/A
• Seven Bridges: The total of:
  1. The number of times the “Explore Selected” button has been clicked on the Data Browser.
  2. The number of filters added in Faceted Search.
  3. The number of times “Explore in Data Browser” has been clicked in the Data Overview page.
  4. The number of searches performed in the Study Variable Explorer.
  5. The number of times “Query dataset” has been clicked in the Annotation Explorer.

Search Terms (PIC-SURE and Dug):

• Search Term: Text string representing the given search term
• Timestamp: Timestamp of the search term, in "DD-MM-YYYY HH:MM" Format.
• Comment: Free text of any comment relevant to the Search Term (For example, explaining a change in search term frequency over a given time period)

Exports:

• Dug: N/A
• PIC-SURE: The number of times a cohort has been Exported to Seven Bridges, Exported to Terra, or downloaded as either a CSV or PFB
• Gen3: The number of times a cohort has been exported as a PFB
• Terra: N/A
• Seven Bridges: N/A

PFB_Imports:

• Terra: The number of BDC-specific PFB files imported into the platform by a user into a Terra Workspace.
