High-flux KB mirrors

Mir:2 - VFM

Mechanics

  • Weak link flexures for all translations
  • Vertical translation system has four stepper motors, so is overconstrained. Extra axis is twist, and needs to be maintained at zero.

Mir:3 - HFM

Controls

Motion control

High-resolution KB mirrors

Mir:4 - VFM

Mechanics

  • Weak link flexures for all translations
  • Limited yaw capability, so X translations need to move in parallel

Motion

Axis Motor type Controller type Notes
X upstream SmarAct SmarAct Native direction is opposite to NSLS-II standard. Home is at inboard hardstop (check this, not consistent with sensor definition in controller)
X downstream SmarAct SmarAct Native direction is opposite to NSLS-II standard. Home is at inboard hardstop (check this, not consistent with sensor definition in controller)
Y upstream Stepper Delta Tau Negative limit switch is positioned too high, cannot retract mirror from beam path
Y upstream Stepper Delta Tau
Z SmarAct SmarAct Home at downstream hardstop (check vs configured sensor type)
