Meal Connect is a comprehensive solution aimed at addressing the critical issue of food wastage by creating a platform that connects local food businesses, such as restaurants and grocery stores, with nearby charities or food banks. The system allows businesses to track surplus food availability, schedule pickups, and optimize distribution to minimize food wastage while aiding those in need.

Key Features

Restaurant Management: Enables restaurants to register, manage their information, and list surplus food items. Food Item Tracking: Allows businesses to list details of surplus food items, including quantity, category, and expiry date. Charity Registration: Provides charities with the ability to register, manage their information, and request pickups. Pickup Scheduling: Facilitates the scheduling of pickups between restaurants and charities to streamline the distribution process. Distribution History: Tracks the history of food distributions, including details of charities, food items, and schedules.

Getting Started

These instructions will get you a copy of the project up and running on your local machine for development and testing purposes.

Clone the repo and follow these steps:

npm init -y
npm i express cors nodemon ejs dotenv mysql method-override express-session

Run the server.js file with the following command:

npm run dev
