Getting Started

This guide will cover everything that you need to know about Path of Building to become efficient with using the tool to plan your builds!

  1. The Basics
  2. The Interface
  3. Adding Skills (coming soon)
  4. Adding Items (coming soon)
  5. Calculations & Configurations (coming soon)

The Basics

Chances are, you've already downloaded Path of Building, but on the off chance you haven't you can find it right here on the releases page: https://github.com/Openarl/PathOfBuilding/releases

PoB automatically fetches the latest updates when you launch the application, but you still have to click to download the updates. The first screen that you're presented with will look like this:

If you look to the 'bottom left' of the screenshot, you will see that the latest updates have been fetched and are ready to download. Simply click the button to start downloading the updates!

Upon clicking the update button you'll be presented with a popup window, this will contain patch notes on the changes or updates that have been made. Click 'Update' and wait until the "Updating..." has finished. Here is an image of what to expect:

Now that you have that out of the way, we can go over the interface and where you can find everything that you'll be needing to plan and share your builds.

The Main Interface

Some of the interface is pretty self explanatory, but I'll go over everything to ensure that absolutely nobody is left wondering what or where something is. Not all players will be used to such tools.

Below you can see an image explaining the top most part of the applications interface:

  1. "Back" button will take you to your build list containing all of the builds that you've saved. If you haven't saved any builds yet this list will be blank and on clicking 'New' it will take you back to the unnamed build that you were presented with on opining the application.
  2. Once saved you will see the name of your build here but when you open the application you don't have any build so it defaults to an unnamed build, upon clicking save you can set the name of your build.
  3. This is how many skill points you have allocated, in this image that is "0" out of the maximum available skill points of "123" followed by your Ascendancy points in the same format.
  4. The current level of your character, this is manually altered and effects the calculations of your stats to the far left.
  5. Your character class, to change simply click on the drop down and select the class you wish to choose.
  6. Choose your ascendancy here.
