#### Ruby and Rails

// TODO: include local setup for these
To install the [RubyInstaller for Windows](https://rubyinstaller.org/downloads/) and read the directions on the right to choose the best installation for yourself. RubyInstaller is a self-contained Windows-based installer that contains a Ruby language execution, a baseline set of requried RubyGems and extensions, and integrates into a MSYS2 installation. This will also prompt you to install MSYS2 if not already installed.

You can see if if it was successfully installed by opening CMD (or Start Command Prompt with Ruby if on Windows 10) prompt and typing `ruby -v`.

With the Ruby installation complete, you can install Rails by entering `gem install rails` in the cmd prompt. Rails is a service-side web application framework written in Ruby and is a model-view-controller framework.

You can verify installation of Rails by typing `rails -v` in the cmd prompt.

You now have installed Ruby and Rails -- Ruby on Rails.
