Our Wi-Fi

If you are too lazy to get wired (registering MAC etc., see below), you can use our access point prlprg: the password is usually written on white-boards inside 1252/1254, otherwise you can ask Konrad.

Printer

Since 7/2020, there is a new printing system.

Printing from USB

The most fool-proof way to print is to put your PDF file in an USB thumb drive and stick it directly into the printer. Then choose the "print from USB" option from the touchscreen menu. If you can't understand the user interface because it is in Czech, the option to switch to another language is under Pokročile Funkce > Upravit Účet.

Printing from your computer

To print directly from your computer, the installation process is a bit more involved. See the General information and Setup Instructions in the FIT website.

If you are on Linux, we recommend using the CUPS web interface as described in the Setup Instructions, instead of trying to do it via GNOME settings, etc. Note that in the CUPS web interface, the HTTP authentication you need to provide is your sudo password, not your FIT/CVUT password.

Note from Ryan on Ubuntu 18.04: couldn't access the CUPS page on localhost:631 using Chromium. It said it was an "unauthorized" page. But on Firefox it worked, showing the expected authentication prompt.

Old: Printer/scanner with a view

147.32.232.58 (12-th floor) 147.32.232.45 (10-th floor, older one) 147.32.232.36 (14-th floor, julst like the one on the 12th)

It is a Konica Minolta bizhub C364e combination printer/scanner. It has a web interface. The printing protocol is LDP.

Linux Installation

It works (surprisingly well) on Linux with CUPS.
