Java Utils License: LGPL v3

Java Utils are build tools and utility libraries/classes to use in any java project. As in Pimous Dev. we only use our own productions, this repository contains everything needed to work without any build automation, dependency manager or general purpose libraries bundled with a lot of things we don't care about.

So, these tools are usually updated when we need it. But, if you have any suggestion or proposal to upgrade this last, don't hesitate to contact us.

Version: v1.3.0

Roadmap

  • Comment syntax in environment files.
  • Environment variables to select used java binaries.
  • Environment variables to add flags on java binaries.
  • Fix wrong count of copied resource files.
  • Environment files language support, Intellisense and hovers for vscode.
  • Environment files validator (diagnostics) for vscode.
  • Main script working as a router.
  • Version of tools using GNU Make or in C ?

Documentation

Usually, everything is written in files but there is some explanations.

Technician installation guide

Download and extract buildtools in the root of your project and/or move libraries in your source code while keeping packages. But, let your developers do it, they certainly know more about.

Developer preparation guide

Download and extract buildtools or libraries.

Tools

Place extracted files in the root of your project.

If you're using VSCode, take a look at .vscode/tasks.json and the tasks section of the editor. In other cases, bash scripts under bin are documented so you can check them out.

In any cases, if you want to override defaults and so configurate the build tools for your needs, copy content of bin/etc/defaults.env to your newly created file .env, remove unecessary lines and modify the remaining ones as you want (Usually MAIN_CLASS and MAIN_CLASS_TEST properties);

For VSCode users: To make environment file editing easier, a specially created extension adding Language support, Intellisense and hovers for javautils environment files is present in workspaces containing your .vscode. It is currently only available as a local workspace extension. If you opened your java project's folder, you can install it from your extensions pane in workspace recommandations' section.

Utilities

Place extracted files in your source code while keeping packages. Read their documentation, import them and use them! Nothing else.
