@scaramonche scaramonche released this 30 Dec 10:40

This release makes sure that stringApp will continue working beyond 31st December 2024. Due to some necessary server reorganization, stringApp now makes better use of the STRING API by getting all protein-protein interactions directly from there. Additional interactions such as protein-compound, compound-compound, and cross-species as well as additional node information including tissue and compartments scores will still be retrieved via Jensenlab API.

Besides several bug fixes, a new functionality of stringApp v2.2 is the way STITCH compound networks are created and expanded. Namely, if you query for only one protein, the returned network will contain this protein and the 10 compounds interacting with it with the highest confidence. Similarly, if you query for one compound, you will get a network of this compound and the 10 highest scoring protein interactors. In order to expand a protein-compound network, you will need to choose if you will expand from the set of proteins or the set of compounds in your network, which works the same way as expanding from a selection of protein or compound nodes.
