Visual Design and Pattern Library

Ashley Meyers edited this page Jul 27, 2018 · 1 revision

We’re still working on the look and feel of this website.

For now, we’re using the US Web Design System. We have migrated the components we need into a pattern library, very rough first draft of which can be viewed at http://apps.sfgov.org/sf-pattern-lab/. We know this needs lots of work to be usable for designers and front-end developers citywide.

The intent is to use this for now as we create a new visual identity that reflects San Francisco’s unique character. We’re currently working with city staff from across departments to interview San Franciscans to inform that work, and then will work with a design and branding agency to deliver it and apply it to the pattern library. We hope to keep many of the same HTML components and update the CSS, but we know some refactoring will be needed.
