Expected behavior and actual behavior

Boots normally. All is well on the menu root. Menu can be navigated using a wired controller. Settings can be adjusted and saved.

Selecting "Browse SD card" brings up the SD card directory directly into the "SNES" folder but then the system is no longer responsive to controller input. ROMs cannot be selected. No error message. Bottom left shows "0:/SNES". Bottom right the "loading icon" does not move.
System requires reboot to go back to normal.

I used different FAT32 SD cards (all reputable from Amazon basics or SanDisk) formatted on Windows -> same result
I removed any ROMs from the SNES folder -> same result
Prepared the SD card on Mac or on Windows -> same result

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Insert prepared SD card
  2. Boot
  3. Select "Browse SD card"
    -> System becomes unresponsive

firmware

  • firmware version: 7.2

relevant Super Nt settings

I tested slow, fast and fastest for SD card speed settings but it did not solve the bug.
Not sure if any other setting should be adjusted.
