My second set of solutions for Advent of Code 2024, and a personal utility library I wrote for AOC puzzles.
My brain function has deteriorated steadily over the past few years. By 2025, I was only able to program for a few minutes at a time—then there would be a palpable hitch and a phantom smell (usually chlorine, sometimes metal, twice it was cinnamon). If I did not stop immediately, I would soon find my consciousness dissolving into a sea of painful sparkles.
In the middle of February, I started new medication. The side effects are gnarly, but so very worth it. With it, I still have to take things very easy, but programming no longer leads directly to pain. To test the limits of my new capability, I challenged myself to write fresh, nice solutions to AOC 2024, and to clean up and streamline my personal AOC utility library. This is the result. I'm very happy that I can code (and play factory games) again, even if only for an hour or two at a time.
The code in this repository is in the public domain. All I ask in return is that you do something nice for someone. It doesn't matter whom.
