Command line and Mouse
qqX is intended to be mainly run via its menus.
A specific distro maybe started directly from the terminal, or more generally by just typing "qqX"
The command line API been limited to basic functions only. Type "qqX --help" at the terminal prompt for more details.
Various functions and routines may be started by mouse. Some will be present from the initial installation, some will need to be set up.
Right clicking on a ISO file will allow the installation of a new Linux distribution
Things may present differently. In Mate, above, the right click options are clear, on first click. With Gnome 3 you will need to open the 'open with' sub-menu first.
This function should auto-install, including the update from version 1.6 which will run the desktop reconfigure routine.
Right clicking on Qemu disk drives will give a quick view of the content and of their health status. This works for GnomeBoxes / VirtManager disks too, although at present they cannot be run or converted to Quickemu methods.
Left clicking / double clicking on Quickemu configuration files will bring up the launch menu to that particular distro, providing that the config has been edited to qqX from quickemu.
Right clicking requires manual associating. It should be recognised that the .conf files are coded as plain text. If you associate .conf files to qqX this will also associate ordinary text files.
However, this optional association can be beneficial as it will allow non-modified standard quickemu configs to be opened.
qqX will also detect if a file is simple text or a configuration. In the case of plain text, not only will a quick handy text preview be given, alla sushi, but there is also the option to launch qqX too ....
To disassociate .conf files, the usual common procedure is to right click and go to properties where some kind of menu will be offered.
