Hi there!

My name is Wesley F. Young, an undergraduate student majoring in Physics at Tsinghua University. I was once am an addicted Minecraft player , but I am fading out because of increasing pressure from my major. However, I am still concerned about Minecraft developers community and willing to lend a helping hand.

My projects

Here are some projects I am currently working on:

  • NapCatQQ, an epoch-making QQ Bot framework.

  • bedrock-stdhub, a plugin loader for unmodified Bedrock Dedicated Server, in response to Microsoft's stopping offering PDB files for BDS. LeviLamina could persist even without PDB files. Delayed.

  • projectGDT, an identity system based on Minecraft accounts (both Java and Bedrock), for a more connected Minecraft world. Delayed.

I am also working in Student Association of Science and Technology, Dept. Phys. (abbr. DPSAST) of Tsinghua University. My work is maintaining the server of the association and developing new features, and I also have some projects for DPSAST.

我同时也在清华大学物理系学生科学与技术协会(简称物理科协)工作。我的工作是维护科协服务器和开发新功能,有着一些为物理科协开发的项目。

My beliefs

  • AI is to assist human beings, not to replace them. AI is intended to complete repetitive and boring tasks (such as coding, lol), and to ensure that human beings can focus on more creative and meaningful work.

    AI 是为了辅助人类,而不是取代人类。AI 的目的是完成重复乏味的工作(比如写代码),从而保证人类能集中精力完成更有创造力和意义的工作。

  • I prefer to bother myself rather than others. If I can solve a problem by myself, I will try my best to do it.

    我更愿意自己麻烦自己,而不是麻烦别人。如果我能自己解决一个问题,我会尽力去做。

  • JavaScript (TypeScript / ECMAScript) is a 'full-stack' language, which can power both frontend and backend.

  • Open-source software is the future. Not only free, but also more secure and reliable.

  • Documentation is as important as code. At least, you code because someone else is going to use it.

  • Users know users best. You develop it? You use it.

  • Communities should not expect that big companies will listen to them. When a company did something wrong, instead of correcting it, the community should just find another way to solve the problem. Let the market give the company a lesson.

    社区不应该寄希望于大公司听取他们的意见。当一个公司做错了事,社区与其尝试纠正,不如寻找其他解决问题的途径。市场会给公司一个教训。

  • For a university, the best way to teach is to let students just do it, but always acts as a rescue helicopter hovering over them.
