Tamil Fonts and Unicode Converter

The simple JavaScript program that converts between various Tamil Fonts and respective Tamil Unicode.

Introduction

This project is a converter tool that converts between Tamil Fonts and Tamil Unicode. Especially the specific fonts currently implemented that is Bamini and Suntommy. It is built with JavaScript and some HTML, CSS, Bootstrap Library and Fontawesome Icons.

Installation

To install the project, follow these steps:

If you want to run on any device with Internet then follow this link. Otherwise to run on your device without Internet then follow the below steps.

  1. Clone the repository to your local machine or Download this repository.
  2. Navigate to the repository folder and find index.html file.
  3. Run or Open in your browser.

Features

Here are some features of the project that can be used as per your requirement:

  1. Select between different fonts,
  2. Convert from Unicode to Selected Tamil Font,
  3. Convert from Selected Tamil Font to Unicode,
  4. Covert instantly as you type and/or by pasting the text,
  5. Copy the result to your device clipboard instantly after the conversion,
  6. You will get some useful information such as letters count and words count.

Usage

Here are some instructions on how to use the project:

  1. At first, Select the required font available only with in this project.
  2. Enable the first switch, If you want to convert from Unicode to selected Tamil font. Otherwise, Please disable it.
  3. If you want to convert by pasting / typing the text then enable second switch.
  4. If you want to convert more and multiple as productively, then enable the third switch. Which will copies the result text to your device clipboard. To use it into any other third party tools as you per requirement.
  5. Enter the text in into the respective input field which is namely input letters in Tamil.
  6. Click button to convert that namely Convert in Tamil.
  7. After conversion, You will get result text next to the input field.
  8. At the bottom of the converter, You will find some information such as letters count and words count.
