Model that looks at the key rate difference when using a non-ideal optic that has polarisation dependent performance.

The model will take you through a BB84 key rate calculation where there there is a non-ideal set of states being used. We are looking at the effects of a non-ideal optic that introduces depolarising errors thanks to polarisation dependence. For example, a dichroic mirror that will reflect light of a certain wavelength with different probabilities (depending on the incident polarisation) will introduce depolarising errors which reduce the key rate.

Using the functions outlined in Waks et al_2002_Security aspects of quantum key distribution with sub-Poisson light.
