👋 Smittesporing

A pro-bono plug-and-use open source project for government health organisations to monitor Covid-19 spread by help of a mobile app (Android & iOS) that tracks and stores the user's movements locally on the device, and only submits these securely to the government registry when you reasonably suspect that you have been infected.

With Smittesporing governmental health authorities can

  • Analyse and identify sources of infection
  • Track corona symptoms real-time
  • See where there an outbreak
  • Understand and project need of treatment for covid-19 in the coming days

With Smittesporing the end users can

  • Share their current symptoms and movements with the government
  • Help detect source of infections

🤩 Why?

Because we want to help save lives. We have no commercial interest here, and we don't have an existing product to peddle.

🎯 Is this backed by the Norwegian health organisations?

Not yet - We are in touch with several entitites within the Norwegian government, and there is a lot of interest - yet understandably they are quite swamped at the moment.

We don't want to spend time on this project unless it can be of use, and would be glad to merge with other efforts. Without government support within Friday 20 March we will probably kill this project.

In the meantime we continue work on vision, pitch and direction of the project.

🔐 Security and privacy

We create the frontend following best practice wrt privacy and security (ssl pinning, strong encryption using secure enclave).

The backend for this project is out of scope for us, but if government wants help implementing backend I think developers of Norway is ready to scramble!
