Private Message Policy

This is Changeling's policy for not responding to private messages. It's generally good advice when considering the best way to communicate with mod authors.

Private messages are not an appropriate place to send mod authors bugs, feature requests, questions, or general discussion of the mod. If these are seen in private messages, they will be ignored.

Please report all bugs/feature requests to:

  • The appropriate issue tracker...
  • or if that isn't available, an appropriate comment section...
  • or if that isn't available, nowhere. Do not contact the mod author.

Please send all questions and general discussion to:

  • The forum thread...
  • or if that isn't available, an appropriate comment section...
  • or if that isn't available, nowhere. Do not contact the mod author.

In general, private messages should be reserved for important business inquiries and sensitive private information. By not sending private messages, you help keep the inboxes of mod authors free for serious business.

Also, please understand that mod authors do not have time to reply to all reports. If your report does not receive a reply, please just assume they have read it and don't have time to reply.

Compliments, ultimatums, and other psychological and/or social engineering techniques will not be effective ways to get the attention of a mod author.

To-reiterate:

  • Chance your messages will be considered at if you post them in private messages: 0%.
  • Chance your messages will be considered at if you post them on the issue tracker: Greater than 0%
  • Chance your messages will be considered at if you post them on the forum thread: Greater than 0%
  • Chance your messages will be considered at if you post them on the comment section: Greater than 0%

Please re-post your issues in a more appropriate location.

And tell your friends to not send private messages.
