Open Use Policy

Description

All aspects of the format shall be (open source) licensed so that its use is never prevented by any 3rd party.

Sub-requirements

Requirement 14.1

The open source license shall not prevent any party from utilizing the format either standalone or as part of a new standard. The new standard may be licensed under a different license.

Requirement 14.2

The license shall not prevent any instance of the format from being copywrite protected by the creator.

Requirement 14.3

Any official API of the format shall be open source licensed.

Requirement 14.4

The official documentation of the format shall be open source licensed.

Requirement 14.5

The format serialization shall be open source licensed.

Requirement 14.6

Format data access shall not require use of any particular item of implementation code which is not open source.
