Manually apply patch advised at https://www.drupal.org/project/uc_out_of_stock/issues/2476957 which refers to stock level being incorrectly displayed when a second attribute option is selected and then reverting to the first. In this case, the first attribute option stock is not displayed when selected (the second attribute stock value remains displayed).

However, applying this patch doesn't seem to fix the problem so I expect there is some further changes need to be made to make it work in Backdrop.
