Django ORM Is All I Need... NOT

Django ORM (or SQLAlchemy or some yet another ORM) is great. I use it all the time and it's good enough most of the time. However, there are times when you need to know what's beneath the ORM, you need to know how the db works, which queries go to db and how to correct and optimize them.
