Software Defined Networking (SDN) enables uniform policy application to a set of heterogeneous network services, followed by an assurance step to ensure proper application. SDN can be applied to a wide variety of underlying network services such as Switches, Firewalls, Routers, Wireless LAN Controllers, DHCP, DNS, etc. BlueCat’s integration with SDN solutions allows SDN policies to be applied to the DNS resolution service that BlueCat provides to end points. BlueCat also provides full service data to SDN controllers, to include DNS queries resolved, malware access attempts detected, leases granted, leases rejected etc.
