csvbase

A simple website for sharing table data.

screenshot

What it's about

  1. Paste your CSV file
  2. Get a table on the web you can share with people via url
  3. They can export it into pandas/excel/spark/whatever

In short: making it really easy to share dataframes.

For example

A good demo is meripaterson/stock-exchanges, which is an up-to-date list of the world's stock exchanges.

If you wanted to load that dataset into pandas, for example, you would run:

>>> import pandas as pd
>>> # you just put in the same url as on the website, bit of magic here
>>> stock_exchanges = pd.read_csv("https://csvbase.com/meripaterson/stock-exchanges")
>>> stock_exchanges

It's just as easy to:

  1. Export to XLSX (MS Excel)
  2. Export to R
  3. Execute create/read/update/delete operations via a simple REST API
  4. And get the CSV back as well, of course

A few more details

This repo has the full sourcecode for the website. There is no other repo with more stuff in it. Except the client code.
