Paradigms_Public

Publicly available canlab experimental paradigms

Each folder in this repository contains a link to programmed experiment files (paradigms) and stimuli associated with a CANlab study. They are distributed under the GNU Public License 3.0. You are free to copy these paradigms and use or modify them for your own non-commercial purposes, though there is no guarantee that they will be suitable for any particular purpose. In some cases, some of the stimuli needed to run the paradigm may not be included, if they are not shareable due to copyright issues. (e.g., this is the case with IAPS pictures.)

BMRK3: 6 levels of heat pain with imagine up/down blocks. Software: E-Prime. Pubs: Wager et al. 2013, Woo et al. 2015

Compassion: Listen to 24 30-second true stories of suffering people, rate tenderness or personal distress, hear a reminder of each biography, and then make a charitable donation ($0 - $100). Also included is the Compassion Meditation iPod app source code and distributions. This includes two control conditions (placebo oxytocin and familiarity). Participants listened to the biographies, inhaled placebo oxy or did a meditation or did nothing, answered an attentional check question, and then rated PANAS brief form. Software: E-Prime, iOS/Xcode

Instructions for adding paradigms:

  • One folder per experiment
  • Folder naming convention: YEAR_LEADPERSON_PROJECTCODE_OTHERKEYWORDS
  • Readme file in each folder called Readme_for_paradigm_files.rtf
  • Update that file and fill in info
  • Update master Readme.md with folder name and short description. Folder names should appear in Readme.md in the same order as they are listed in Finder/File system.
