Here are some user stories that this plugin should be able to satisfy:
- I have a blog for essays I write, and I wish to publish all my content under CC BY-SA, but some exceptions might go under CC BY. I want the license mark on each page to display the title of the essay in question, my name, and the correct license.
- The University of Amsterdam has a student website. The University has a policy stating all student created content should be licensed CC BY-SA and attributed to the respective student.
- OKFN has a network installation, with each local chapter having their own blog. OKFN wants to allow each chapter to decide on their own, which licenses they use and how they attribute them.
- Company X has a network of blogs, which they want to be licensed under CC BY-NC-ND. All content on those blogs should be attributed to the company.
- A European project has a blog for posting news. Each project partner can choose the license they will use when they publish on the blog, but the project funding rules limit the choices to only licenses that fit the Free Cultural Works definition (CC0, CC BY, CC BY-SA).
- A company's blog contains some white papers that should be shared under the CC BY-ND license, attributed to the company regardless of actual author. Other pages on the site should not have an open license at all, but rather All rights reserved.
