This patch adds on-the-fly configurable dim rules.
I wrote it because current solutions for dimming monitors below what hardware controls allow (such as
redshift
) make dark terminals unreadable.In
dbus-examples/ambient-dim.sh
you will find an example of how I to use the new dbus interface. You may monitor its work withdbus-send --print-reply --dest=com.github.chjj.compton._0 / com.github.chjj.compton.opts_get string:dim-rule
