opening a PR just to get the ball rolling on this. (+ might be helpful to look at diffs!)
the last time I worked on this I remember thinking it wasn't quite there yet + there's a few console logs scattered in there. but it respects the api described in the readme and it works. so maybe this could be a starting point, i dunno.

npm run examplei can make time in the coming week (or a little after because New Year) to look at this more. I'll try to dig up my notes as well, maybe there's helpful things in there!
