ConvSearch Dataset

This repository is the homepage of the Chinese Open-Domain Conversational Search Behavior Dataset (ConvSearch). You can refer to paper ConvSearch: A Open-Domain Conversational Search Behavior Dataset for more details on dataset construction and analysis.

Download data

Our dataset contains the following parts:

  • Dialogues (Main part, Dialogs.json): information of dialogue and corresponding turns, including content, timestamp, annotation results, et al.
  • Agent behaviors (Main part, SearchBehaviors.json): information of agents' search behaviors before responding to users, including query requests, SERPs with clicks and links to/of langding pages.
  • The HTML files of SERPs (search engine result pages, SERP-htmls.tar.gz) and landing pages in agent search behavior (Supplementary part, Landing-page-htmls.tar.gz).
  • Image files in dialogues (Supplementary part, Dialog-images.tar.gz).

Following table shows the download links of ConvSearch dataset:

Basic statistics

Following table shows the basic statistics of ConvSearch dataset, where # total turns denotes the number of turns in the original dialogue data, while # merged turns denotes the number of turns after we merge multiple consecutive responses of user or agent into a single turn.

Statistics Number
# Dialogues 1,131
Average total turns per dialogue 8.30
Average merged turns per dialogue 6.89
Average agent queries per dialogue 6.01
Average agent queries with clicks per dialogue 3.68
Average words per agent query 10.37
Average landing pages per dialogue 8.78

As a Chinese conversational search dataset, we have stored the conversational content using Unicode encoding to ensure that users can successfully decode the data in any environment. You can refer to the annotation-rules folder to see the annotation specifications for the corresponding segments.
