Release v3.26.0-beta.2 (#2048)

Improvements for all users:

- Some expectations made in the previous beta release on the local
  metadata stored in PouchDB were not met and resulted in exceptions
  being thrown thus stopping the synchronization.
  We've taken measures to make sure those expectations are met in the
  future and existing metadata is cleaned up to meet these
  expectations as well.
