Food Energy Flows

Investigating the role of food in the global sustainable energy transition and highlighting how society needs to be aware of EROEI (energy return on energy invested) dynamics of the different food sources as it transitions away from fossil fuels and changes its diet. A project by Dénes Csala and Sgouris Sgouridis at Lancaster University and Masdar Institute of Science and Technology

This is an interactive global visualization and exploration interface (exploratorium).

You can find a detailed description of the model creation, data mining and analysis and visualization here, in the Data section. The code is presented in interactive Jupyter notebooks that you can download and run yourself.
