Appellation notes in Vino represent protected appellations. he distinction between region and appellation notes, although somewhat artificial, is crucial for separating administrative and historical regions (like Central Otago in New Zealand or Zakarpattia Oblast in Ukraine) from protected appellations of origin (AOPs) such as Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG or Morgon AOC.
The primary requirement for an appellation note is the inclusion of a appellation
tag alongside a wine
tag. Other than this, there are no specific restrictions.
