DEBUG is never defined for builds, so the change to check for that instead of NDEBUG won't work. That header is used in many other repos, plus I've been coding this way (thanks to Microsoft coding that way in its products) for well over 30 years. Please revert that change. Other than that it looks good. |

I've created a makefile for use on Linux (or anything else that supports it) and added the licence details to the version information (I didn't include a copyright date as you have used CC0 1.0).
