zurgtorrent v0.10
Starting from version 0.10.0, zurgtorrent files will be essential for Zurg setups. There are two directories used by Zurg to locate zurgtorrent files:
-
Data Folder: The zurgtorrent files in this folder are linked to the actual torrents in your Real-Debrid (RD) library. These files store all information about a given torrent hash, including the name, files, download/stream links, and media information of each file. Initially, media information is not available; you must trigger a media analysis to run through your entire library. This analysis uses ffprobe, which takes a minimal amount of data, so you don’t need to worry about bandwidth. Once the media information is available, you can use it to filter items in your library using the configuration. Deleting a torrent from your RD library will not delete the corresponding zurgtorrent file, but it will not appear on your mount anymore. When torrents are repaired, it is the zurgtorrent file that is repaired, not your RD library. If a torrent is redownloaded as a whole and all links are verified as working, then it will replace the old torrent. Otherwise, any new torrents (with the same hash) downloaded to repair the torrent will be deleted after the “fixed” link is saved in the zurgtorrent file. When a torrent is archived (RAR'ed) by RD and Zurg attempts to extract it (rar_action: extract), the extracted files are also deleted from your RD library after being saved in the zurgtorrent file.
As you can see, the zurgtorrent file is the source of truth for torrent information in Zurg.
-
Dump Folder: Any zurgtorrent files placed here, even if not in your RD torrent library, will appear in Zurg. Zurg will mimic or copy the folder hierarchy of zurgtorrent files inside the dump folder. For example, if you place a zurgtorrent file under folderB, which is under folderA, it will appear the same in the WebDAV endpoint: folderA > folderB > torrent folder > and the files inside that torrent. If you want to import someone else’s library, simply copy all zurgtorrent files from their data folder to your dump folder. Ideally, these files should contain media information as well. The only difference with dumped zurgtorrent files is that they do not get repaired.
Zurgtorrent files are portable and can be used in any Zurg setups running version 0.10.0 or later. This means you can easily share or transfer torrent information across different setups by copying the zurgtorrent files.
In the future, DMM will allow you to download the zurgtorrent of a given torrent with media info, providing even more flexibility and ease of use.
