The intention is to rename the default branch in github settings before merging this PR. Among other things, that will change existing PRs to reference the new "main" branch and temporarily unpublish the GitHub Pages site where documentation is hosted. Merging this PR will publish a new version of the documentation.
If you maintain a local clone you can follow these instructions to update the default branch.
