We used data from a variety of sources. All data was loaded into a PostgreSQL database.

  • Cook County GIS (data can be purchased from the agency)

    • Parcel shapefile
    • Address shapefile (Note: too large for OGR-based tools, needs to be cut down in size or otherwise handled in ArcGIS.)
    • Political boundaries
  • DePaul Institute for Housing Studies real estate market data. All of this data originally comes from the County, but it's governed by non-disclosure agreements so we can't publicly release it.
