Concepts

  • package - abstract, an identifier only
  • package [version] - concrete instance, sealed, has a unique and permanent identifier, contains data, code to produce the data and references to input data
  • workspace - a work in progress package version - has no identifier
  • repository - store for package versions, typically a designated local directory
