Go's time.Now()
API records both the "absolute" time as well as a "monotonic clock" for relative time, so this compares both. See the Go time package documentation for details. I also wrote a C program that uses clock_getres
as a comparison. Scroll down for example output and details. On Linux, clock_getres
reports that all timers have 1 ns resolution. On Mac OS X, it reports 1 us resolution, except for CLOCK_MONOTONIC_RAW which has a 42 ns resolution.
