The generic endpoint proxy can implement an extension where [`apix:exposesService`][8] and [`apix:consumesService`][7] are equivalent. It will use a [service instance registry][6] to discover a registered instance of the service indicated by `apix:consumesService`, and proxy the request to that service instance.
