This is Alex Mkwizu π§πΎββοΈ, a passionate problem solver βοΈ who believes π in solving problems π οΈ and evaluating βοΈthe best way to scale them through technology π¨πΎβπ» to reach a large base of the community π₯. I am proficient with Python π and my best framework is Django. I use the HCD (Human Centred Design ) approach to tackle problems best at their core π₯. I use Figma to design the best UI π¨ ( User Interfaces ) and use my creative skills to curate the best UX ποΈ ( User Experience ) for the system users π§ .
I love technical communities as my journey in software development started there. I build, mentor and consult student tech communities. I have been a Hub manager at the University Of Dar es Salaam ICT Hub ( Udicti ) where I helped fellow students learn technical skills by hosting expert sessions with industrial experts, teaching in workshops and hosting hackathons. Partaken in designing and implementing the Smart Girls In ICT Program as a community outreach program for Udicti Hub to the secondary girls students to spike their interest in STEM subjects, Innovation and Entrepreneurship reaching more than 1500+ girls.

Currently, I am a GitHub campus expert π , where I work hand in hand with fellow campus experts in organising technical workshops, hackathons, tech career fairs and Twitter spaces that aim to build sustainable tech communities where students learn technical skills relevant to the current market and a chance to network with professionals in the IT space. Also, raise awareness of the GitHub Education Pack and the GitHub Campus Expert Program benefits and how students can leverage them.
I am also a Postman Student expert, where I work with students and communities to advocate for API literacy, consuming APIs, designing APIs, API security and deploying APIs, have run workshops impacting more than 100+ students in cooperation with fellow community leaders in universities and outside universities.
I am currently working on establishing an open source Africa chapter in Tanzania , Dar es Salaam advocating for open source and welcoming newbies to contribute to open source projects as means to learn , give back to the community and build their portfolios. Started with hosting the first Hacktoberfest event in Tanzania , Dar es Salaam.
I love curating and doing creative arts π¨ , whilst with phone π± and camera πΈ I enjoy photography π· and videography πΉ capturing images and motion pictures that tell stories π . While on my PC π» I am a seasoned graphics designer π¨ ποΈ, creative photographer πΈ and video editor πΉ . Offline I do poetry π , pencil sketching π and read books π .
