HoE is Qemacs with steroids support withdrawn. It doesn't strive to be the best OS. It does one thing and does it best i.e. Editing.

The following has been stripped down:

• Unicode support
• Video mode
• X11 and MS Windows support
• Shell mode
• Latex mode (only coloring is supported now)
• CSS
• qhtml

Support for following is added:

• Cscope (same as xcscope in GNU Emacs)
• Patch mode (colorize the patch rightly)
• Rectangle operations (rectangle kill, insert)
• Command to delete trailing white spaces
• Tab display support
• Global settings for tab width, indent width and indent tabs mode

All in all it has almost everything I used to use in GNU Emacs except for Org mode. That too will come and would be the final mode.
