For a grant over $100,000, do all matching funds need to be spent within the grant period (July 2018-June 2019)? If so, what type of reporting will there be to show that matching funds have been spent? Also, if matching funds are required to be spent, do they need to be spent on items allowable under the RAILS grant (eg cannot be spent on construction)? Finally, if we receive additional investing dollars after the beginning on the grant period, can we change the source of the matching funds from what we initially stated in the application? #17

  • They do not need to be spent, but the organization will need to be in possession of the funds prior to the end of the grant period

Do matching funds need to be spent on items allowable under the RAILS grant (eg cannot be spent on construction)?

  • They do not need to be spent on items allowable under the RAILS grant, but they do need to go toward the project requested in the application

Finally, if we receive additional investing dollars after the beginning of the grant period, can we change the source of the matching funds from what we initially stated in the application?

  • That would be acceptable as long as the matching amount is met during the grant period
