Additions:

  • Added "Bonus" and "Desert" maps
  • Added a completely redesigned version of Volcano
  • Added new custom stage music
  • Added a "scoreboard always on" option in settings
  • Added a "chat filtering" option in settings
  • Added new player color palettes
  • Added Luigi color palette variants
  • Added some missing SFX (coins bouncing, lava hiss)
  • Added the missing animated background for Fortress

Adjustments:

  • Massive performance optimizations + FPS boost (~1.6x)
  • Improved audio quality for sped-up versions of songs
  • Changed Mario's movement physics to be even closer to the original game
  • Redesigned Poison/Lava graphics to be closer to the original game
  • Redesigned menu UI sprites & color palettes to be more consistent
  • Joining a room via code now works regardless of the selected region
  • Changed minimum nickname length to 2 instead of 3 characters
  • Made room bans into IP bans
  • Last selected skin/character is now remembered when switching rooms / restarting the game
  • Made Pirahna Plants pop up more often, to be closer to the original game
  • Blue Koopas can now be hit into their shells without becoming an item
  • Enemies can now be hit when block they're standing on are groundpounded
  • Lots of internal miscellaneous / networking changes

Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where analog sticks would always take priority over d-pads
  • Fixed overworld music looping not being seamless
  • Fixed Players sometimes being able to collect the same Powerup
  • Fixed Players with a Starman not being able to double/triple jump
  • Fixed Players' star counts being local, and not enforced by the host
  • Fixed Players with a Blue Shell continuing to slide when entering an upwards pipe
  • Fixed Players sometimes spinning with the Propeller Mushroom when joining as spectator
  • Fixed "<" and ">" having the wrong symbols in the lobby chat
  • Fixed "Player Count" slider in lobby settings having the wrong color
  • Fixed player track icons not appearing on Linux / WebGL versions
  • Fixed Main Menu UI inconsistencies (wrong fonts, symbols, etc)
  • Fixed flashing players sometimes staying invisible when the game ends
  • Fixed enemies sometimes walking backwards
  • Fixed powerups not poof-ing when hit into the ceiling in Fortress
  • Fixed Koopa "kick" sfx playing multiple times
  • Fixed Koopas in Sky falling through the semisolid mushrooms
  • Fixed Luigi's Blue Shell being rotated slightly off-center
  • Fixed Big Stars sometimes spawning too soon when the room host disconnects
  • Fixed Mini Mushroom collection SFX being cut early
  • Fixed the Propeller Mushroom being bump-able from below via blocks
