Alpha release with new log file naming convention

This alpha release includes saving images in a separate thread and saving event messages in rotating log files. The Python TimedRotatingFileHandler is used to put older events in properly dated log files. Documentation has been reorganized to include a standard HISTORY.md changelog file.
