They needed editing. If a new font is added, the generator can produce them to check for updates.

Having all formats -
eot,svg,otf,ttf,woff,woff2available is useful. No need to look for them on the Internet.NPM is the most used way to maintain web projects. Free build and distribution from a publisc package registry.
