EcoConscious Tech Web App

A web app designed to inform the public about the carbon emissions produced from using the Internet.

  • Visualizes user statistics on the number of websites they've visited that are run on renewable energy over time and daily
  • Links to the Google Chrome Extension and Google Firestore to query user data
  • Features detailed information on website carbon emissions and the estimated amount of carbon emissions produced at HackDuke 2020

Our Experience at HackDuke

We built this web app as a part of the HackDuke Code for Good Hackathon in the Energy & Environment track, winning 2nd place. It is part of a broader project, focused on informing and educating developers and internet users alike on the environmental impact of their technological pursuits.
