Add webadmin pannel and button in channel for private conference #44
Comments
When you are op in the channel that has someone doing nudity, you automatically become a moderator for the video chat no need of extra web admin panel. Then you can ban anyone doing such. Try it out yourself! |
Though it would be nicer if there was an option to enable or disable on that particular channel the ability to have a video chat. |
I think it's a good idea to have an administrator panel as mzelenka says, to avoid misuse of the webcam, and to be able to check them and be able to ban the user |
If im correct if you enable webam on channel all people can join it and see all cameras? Because whole room becomes conference room? So the idea is people with Kiwi can join room and see icon next to users name (if he is using kiwi client and if he has cam/mic enabled). Thats the whole idea. |
@mzelenka you can enable it or disable it on public cams as it says in the readme. I have it on my network for all public and private chats. Yes you can make it as a whole conference room as it uses jitsi it's unlimited and you can control anyone on the conference once you are an op in the channel you automatically become a moderator on the video chat. But ok it would be nicer to have a enable disable button for that specific channel if so, but for an admin panel, I don't get it why it should matter, while you can still use it without it. What good would that do? Hmm, an icon next to user mic or cam I think this would only be visible on kiwi not on any other sounds good! But how can you see that user when they are private? I think it's a bad idea to spy on people if they are doing something on private chats. The first thing on IRC is to keep private chats secure without spying on anyone, which in fact goes against the whole idea of IRC. Here it's illegal to have kids under the age of 17 on IRC in EU at least! |
So if a user on a channel has @, does he become a moderator of the conference? I didn't know, I'll have to try it. |
First of i dont want my main channel to be conference room. If people want to use cam/mic they will contact the other user. Icons - because you can still call mobile apps and other clients. Try flash webcam module, if user is using flash and has his cam enabled other flash users would see that he has icon next to his name and they could private cam 2 cam. Im root administrator from Serbia so its not illigal because i know laws of Serbia. Facebook? 13 years is a must? Other social medila? 13-14 years + So... users will use PRIVATE camera option - i wont enable it to whole channel because of nudity and admin panel is needed because:
You could say that "moderator of channel is moderator of conference" - wrong, im using mIRC + webclient for camera. I dont want channel to be public conference room that anyone can join. |
There is an option in this on the readme where you can disable for channels and enable for private chats https://github.com/kiwiirc/plugin-conference so make like so on your config.json { People should use /ignore if the user on a private chat is doing something, but you can't basically spy on people in private chats on IRC. Otherwise, if they get to know this they will not use your network. |
I did that, but call button is only in private (hard to see) and i dont want to make whole channel with 1000users conference room. People know that cams are watched they dont mind (normal users with no nudity dont). They are glad that someone is doing something on the network + 80% of the time they come to me to report someone but without admin panel i cant see if its true or false. This is just security needed option so that me - root admin can check if reported user is ok or doing something wrong and to check in sometimes. I can send you screenshot of thst what im asking because lightirc webpage is down atm.

Flash is disabled by default in Chrome so your plugin is the only way people can use irc and their webcam/microphone (on Kiwi client).
Could you add webadmin cam panel for administrators so administrator can if someone reports nudity or bad cam disable that user and ban him from server? (administrator needs to see the camera)
Also could you add sign/button on kiwi so people can see on channel who has camera or microphone enabled because we dont want to have 18+ cameras in our channel room so all people can join? (so channel conference is disabled but people can see who has camera/mic and who doesnt)
Thanks
