Minecolonies Market and Monetary System (copy from basecamp)
To add markets to the game we should have a monetary system which involves taxes etc.
Monetary System: To make it easier for new players, initially the colony has no monetary system, this will only be activated when wanting to place a market since this requires a treasury.
The Treasury: The Treasury is a middle/late game building. On placement it will print:
- "Your colonists became conscientious of monetary value and now demand to be paid for their work"
The treasury will initially request 2 gold blocks to work to create the first money. It will, therefore, start with an initial value: Ex: 10.000 SettlersCoins.
- Taxes are gathered at the end of 7 days. Payment is at the start of the 1st day.
Salaries: Salaries have to be paid depending on the worker type.
General Workers: Production Workers (Production Workers): Service Workers (Crafters, Deliveryman): Security (Guards) Will require payments every 7 Ingame days depending on their levels (and won't work else)
Consume Good Workers (Restaurant, Inn, Market):
- Will receive money from the workers
Taxes: Taxes will come two income sources:
Housing:
- Depending on the housing level the worker has to pay a fixed amount, if his salary is too low he will only pay partially (players responsibility to take care of that)
Workers:
- Consume good workers will tax their products (Food, Market good) with a configurable tax (this tax influences happiness and consumption behavior, if the tax is low they eat more and are more happy, if the tax is high they eat less and are less happy). Still, high taxes result always in a higher return (but lower happiness).
Player function: The player can feed the colony with more money with gold (If his workers don't produce enough taxes). Similar to the time, there is no inflation, price depends on gold price.
The player can get gold from trading in the money at the treasury as well.
Market System: Now, the money created in the treasury can be paid out in money to the player as well, with this money the player can pay:
- Goods of traveling merchants (Minecraft blocks and special Minecolonies blocks)
- Goods in other colonies (Price defined by the other player + tax)
- Certain blocks can be automatically bought from the market with a predefined max price (from traveling merchants or merchants of other colonies stationed at the colony).
Worker and Market:
- Workers can also acquire certain special goods at the market (Special skins depending on their building level (very expensive -> high tax return) - skin change would not be automatic anymore)
Inn and Quests:
- Solving quests in the Inn can also result in receiving money.
