apt.auth was dropped on python-apt version 2.9.1. trixie is currently on 2.9.8, so this will pretty much always fail
not sure how this can be reworked, but as it stands, this won't work on trixie
stubbing this out is not the right solution this is just a hack to make it run on trixie but i don't know how this can even be made to work
