User Research for Developers

This guide provides documentation and instruction on doing design research on BC Government digital products and applications. This is being developed in Github and can be read using Github pages

This content has been developed for the Developer Experience team in Citizen Services, and is aimed at developers who are looking for quick feedback on the products they are working on.

Aligning to the Principles for Digital BC

Doing design research supports the following digital principles:

  • Deliver value for people who live in B.C. and cultivate trust
  • Design with people and embed inclusion
  • Continuously learn & improve
  • Express cultural and historical awareness and respect

Versions

  • v0.0.1 Proof of concept launched January 2024

Content for the guide is hosted on Github and published using Github Pages as a way to develop content in the open. If you find inaccurate content, need more information, or content is missing you can create an issue in the Github repository.

This guide is adapted from the BC Government Design Research Guide which in turn was adapted from the Ontario User Research Guide and the Australia Government Digital Transformation Agency available under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License
