Introduction

Mod-Waitlist is an Okapi module that provides the webservices for a course reserves waitlist.

Configure Mod-Waitlist

In order for mod-waitlist to send e-mails, you will need to configure smtp settings.

  1. Open NotifyEmail.java
    code ~/Desktop/folio/bl/mod-waitlist/src/main/java/org/folio/rest/utils/NotifyEmail.java
  2. Provide your smtp username, password, host, and port.
    private final String SMTP_USERNAME = "username";
    private final String SMTP_PASSWORD = "password";
    private final String SMTP_HOST = "smtp.gmail.com";
    private final String SMTP_PORT = "587";
  3. Customize the notification e-mail. NOTIFY_EXPIRE_TIME is the amount of minutes that the patron has to collect a reserved item after being notified that the item has become available.
    private final String FROM_ADDRESS = "[email protected]";
    private final int NOTIFY_EXPIRE_TIME = 2;
  4. Open TimerManager.java
    code ~/Desktop/folio/bl/mod-waitlist/src/main/java/org/folio/rest/utils/TimerManager.java
  5. Decide how long to wait for a patron to pick up a reserved item before deleting them from the waitlist and e-mailing the next patron in the waitlist. NOTIFY_EXPIRE_TIME is the amount of time in milliseconds.
    private static final long NOTIFY_EXPIRE_TIME = 2 * 60 * 1000;
  6. Open WaitlistAPI.java
    code ~/Desktop/folio/bl/mod-waitlist/src/main/java/org/folio/rest/impl/WaitlistAPI.java
  7. Optionally, you can change the rate at which mod-waitlist updates its waitlist timers. TICK_INTERVAL is the amount of time in milliseconds.
    private static final long TICK_INTERVAL = 5000;

Install Mod-Waitlist

mvn clean install

Install Mod-Waitlist Docker Image

docker container prune
docker rmi mod-waitlist
docker build -t mod-waitlist .

Waitlist Timer

A waitlist object containers a timer mechanism that can be manipulated using a variable called timerMode. timerMode can be in one of these three states: stopped, started, paused.

Reference

  1. Unregister mod-waitlist from Okapi gateway.
    # undeploy mod-waitlist
    curl -w '\n' -X DELETE  -D - http://localhost:9130/_/discovery/modules/mod-waitlist-1.0.0/10.0.2.15-9143
    # disable mod-waitlist for diku
    curl -w '\n' -X DELETE  -D - http://localhost:9130/_/proxy/tenants/diku/modules/mod-waitlist-1.0.0
    # unregister mod-waitlist
    curl -w '\n' -X DELETE  -D - http://localhost:9130/_/proxy/modules/mod-waitlist-1.0.0
  2. List registered modules.
    # list deployed modules
    curl -i -w '\n' -X GET http://localhost:9130/_/discovery/modules
    # list modules enabled for diku user
    curl -i -w '\n' -X GET http://localhost:9130/_/proxy/tenants/diku/modules
    # list modules registered with okapi
    curl -i -w '\n' -X GET http://localhost:9130/_/proxy/modules
